Editorial Message

Call it the loneliness of the long-distance editor. As some of you may know, I reside in the US (A: Yes, thanks to the internet). As many more of you know, Alex de Moller — ZT assistant editor, my partner in crime — has been down in South America working on his forthcoming Sudamerica Brutal documentary, no doubt snorting fistfuls of yeyo and drinking copious cups of human blood in the process.

Meanwhile, Lisa Macey, our esteemed publisher, is handling mountains of paperwork, amongst other things. Fun as all that sounds, it's left me to put together this issue all by my lonesome. Sure, I'll take the vote of confidence from the latter, and the former's always hovering about spiritually...but I gotta admit, the quietude's more than a bit unnerving. And I'm not easily rattled. Left to my own devices, when do they fail? Only a matter of time...? Tick, tock, tick, tock ad infinitum...

Breathe in. Just breathe in. "It's gonna be alright." And you know what? It WILL. As darkness comes early in these wintry times, the dawn for ZT shines even brighter. This once-thorny "quietude" has, in fact, galvanised my goals — and the goals of the magazine — for the coming year. My mind — and especially those of our writers — never sleeps. And, in this case, that's a very good thing. Trust me on this, we've some exciting stuff lined up 2012 and beyond: the proverbial Hot Shit, as the vernacular goes. What exactly? Well, we'd be piss-poor businessmen if we gave away all our secrets all too quickly. That's why you're just gonna have to tune in next issue as we unfurl wonder after wonder upon you, The Faithful Reader. Reading is believing...and you WILL believe it, comrades!
